Project Overview
This project explores the challenges and opportunities in developing a digital product aimed at helping women aged 25-40 live more sustainably. By integrating sustainability principles into daily life and fostering a strong community, the product aims to address both motivational and behavioral barriers.
The project revealed a high motivation for sustainable living among the target group, driven by social norms and concerns for future generations. However, significant challenges include economic constraints and the mental burden of household responsibilities. Despite these obstacles, there is a strong willingness to adopt sustainable habits.
A tracker was added to Root so the target group could track and complete their own challanges.
Economic and complexity issues are major barriers to sustainable living for the target group. Sustainable actions are often perceived as time-consuming and costly. Despite this, there is a strong desire for change, indicating a need for solutions that simplify the transition to sustainable habits.
The Root app is designed to address these challenges by providing a platform for users to track and share their habits. By supporting behavioral change through continuous feedback and a social feature, the app fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility. This social element is crucial for enhancing motivation and reducing mental burden.
